2020-December: Blue Plaid Bellbottoms, Flower Pockets

When C. saw E's blue plaid bellbottoms, she wanted the same print! I was happy to make these for her, and she loves the patch pockets, too.

Pattern: Bailey Bellbottoms, by Made for Mermaids

2020-December: 2 pairs of Green Plaid Bellbottoms

These came out great (and I added patch pockets) but the green fabric didn't have quite enough stretch. So neither pair fit my girls! I gave them both away to friends, whose daughters now look fabulous. ;)

Pattern: Delia Tween Pants by Violette Field Threads (bigger pair)

Bailey Bellbottoms by Made for Mermaids (smaller pair)

2020-December: Star Bellbottoms

E requested more bellbottoms! I added patch pockets to these, since the side-seam pockets of the last pair looked a bit funny.

2020-November: Blue Plaid Bellbottoms

These came out GREAT!! I added side-seam pockets.

People sometimes ask her if she's wearing pajama pants, but I guess they haven't seen 70's Archie comics!

2020-November: Galaxy Bellbottoms

My daughters and I love to read old Archie comics, full of 70's fashions!!

Now they can look like Betty and Veronica. :)

I added pockets!

2020-October: Super Paper Mario Mimi Dress Halloween Costume!

Yep, my older daughter is into occasionally playing Super Paper Mario on our old WiiU. She wanted to be one of the game's bad guys, Mimi, for Halloween! So I made her a dress, got her a wig, and painted her a cotton mask with fabric paints! Covid-safe!

I added the bow through sheer craftiness and strategic stitching to hold it in place. I also added the pocket, outlined in black thread to make it look more cartoony.

This dress is all one piece; I just chose black for the top part of the bodice and sleeves. The character has black stick-figure arms and legs and I'm not sure how the top of the dress is "supposed" to look behind the bow (she's pixellated, after all!), so I did my best with this approach.

E. sometimes wears the dress by itself now, just for fun. And she wears the mask all the time!

I didn't like working with the yellow dot fabric, a type called "Liverpool" knit. I couldn't iron it (it began melting!!) and it was textured and hard to crease and . . . ugh. I'm not using it again.

2020-October: more masks

I made these for me. The first is modified from the same pattern I've been using, to go behind the ears. The second is a different modification, pleated vertically. I like these the best of the ones I have, but I can't wait till we're DONE with masks!

2020-September: Supercute Animals and Fruit top

I love everything about this top. So does C. ^_^

2020-September: Butterfly/Moth Paperbag Shorts

These were for E (with pockets), and she liked the print, but didn't care one way or another about the top ruffle. She didn't want the sash feature, though I think it might have looked cuter with it. ;)

2020-September: Techno Swirly Blue pocket shirt

This was for E. and has a giant pocket, which you can see is shown holding some Pokemon cards. ;)

Pattern: Treasure Pocket Tee from Duck Butt Designs

2020-August: Cherry Blossom Butterfly dress

This dress was pretty straightforward, and C. picked her fabrics again. It came out really long on her, like a maxi dress, which looks really cute!

2020-August: Triple Rainbow tank dress

This was for C., made with fabrics she picked and paired.

It started off having a different (pink) fabric at the bottom. That didn't work out, so I ended up actually tearing it off (it was upcycled and old!) and adding Rainbow Brite instead. She loves it! The pattern doesn't have tank instructions, but it's not hard to simply add sleeve bands to the armscye. It's long on her like a maxi dress!

2020-August: Cat Pocket Tunic

This was for E. and came out SO CUTE!!

I absolutely love how the pockets are placed on the front seams.

The only issue I had was that it's a touch awkward to conserve fabric when cutting these pieces out, since they're shaped so weirdly on an angle.

2020-August: Whale Shorts

These are SO comfy!! Made for me, and actually they are a little big, which I take as a win for my own fitness since last summer when I made a swim pair. ;)

Also? POCKETS!! I highly recommend this pattern. Made of all knits.

2020-July: Modified shirt into magic star dress!

I added a starry skirt to a store-bought tee, along with gold ribbon at the waist, to make a favorite dress for C.! She thought it was super special. :)

2020-July: 13th Doctor Who shirt

I made this for me! I ended up using it on Halloween, too. :)

I really enjoyed making the row of stripes, then sewing it on. I want to do more of this technique!

2020-June: Starry Swimsuit

Really great bathing suit for E out of (of course) swim fabric. I really love this pattern; it fits well and is so cute!

2020-May: Flower field top for me!

Just another top for me! I love how it came out!

2020-May: more masks, sigh

I made two new elastic masks for the girls, and I switched the fabric ties out on my mask for elastic.

2020-May: My Little Pony and Colorful Rainbow Shirt, Shorts, Skorts

This was a custom order. The shirt has custom 3/4 length sleeves, and an applique of Fluttershy.

2020-May: Koala/Fox Crossover Dress

She wanted the fun ribbon accent on the waist!
Sleeves are from my old shirt.

2020-May: Rainbow/Rain/Clouds/Fox Shirt

E. wanted the cute ribbon between the middle and bottom

2020-April: Galaxy/Planet Skirt

I enjoyed using these horizontal panels, combined with other metallic fabrics, to make this skirt for E!

First, I made the panels bigger (the size the pattern required) by adding edge fabrics.

Top and bottom added

Then sides

Completed pieces!

Then I added the bottom band and the waist casing

I added elastic, and it's done!

She's also wearing the unicorn top I made her!

2020-April: Quick Upcycled Skirt

I made a simple skirt for C. out of a shirt I never wore. I cut off the shirt bottom and added elastic in a casing.

2020-April: Plaid Button-down

I made this for me! I adjusted the neckline to have a collar instead of a hood, and I added pockets. The plaid has fun silvery threads in it!
